wedding

  • Seriously, what the hell kind of bullshit country is this where the only weddings that are legally recognized are catholic and civil weddings?! Did it ever occur to you people that other religions exist?!
And all of the damn red tape and unnecessary paperwork. I'm marrying an Italian, but I wish I'd never come to this dumb country in the first place.
    Backward!

  • Do italian laws sucks?

welcome to italy, buddy, you've to say thank you to the catholic church and our f***ing politician. and when you see the pope, wave him.
unfortunately we have the bad luck that catholic church has too much power in social and political life here. if the pope lived in spain, we'd be the spain. best wishes for your marriage.

  • so true

I agree with you! I went through so much trouble trying to plan my Jewish wedding, that I ended up just getting married in the US and registering the marriage with the Italian consulate. It seems Italian lawmakers live to make life difficult for everyone.
I know it sucks, but the other alternative is just to have a civil wedding then a religious blessing afterwards. This shouldn't have to be the case, and in fact this is not the case in most other western countries but I guess you have to just adopt to the Italian system since they have no plans to change.
Hope you get everything organized happy
