Need a little info...

  • This discussion is mostly directed at dutch people. My fiance is dutch, and he wants me to move to the Netherlands to be with him. Problem is, I dont want to move without a degree. My fiance told me about this thing that the hospitals are doing, where they take on foreigners to train them as nurses, midwives ect. and fully train them whilst they work. Can anyone tell me if this is true? And if so, could you please give me a little more information on it?

    Thanks

  • moving to the Netherlands

i moved with my english husband to the uk a few years aga now and i survived, if you are willing to learn the language, which most foreigners seem to have a problem with, i am sure you too will survive. There is always the british embassy/consulates who can help, nowadays they even have internet. The internet seems to be there for any other problem you youngsters have, why dont you use it now, put in place name, hospital and the internet saves you again. Knowing my nation it is probably in 70 languages anyway, have a go be brave.

  • moving to the netherlands

I would be sure to make good inquiries if I were you.
There are all sorts of combinated working-learning programs but those are for dutch-speakers (mostly native kinds on lower educational level).
If your fiancee can't make the effort of giving you all the information you need, please think twice before marrying him.
    I've been there, done that...
May I suggest to come several times for a visit, before moving permanently.
By the way; Holland is a difficult country to most foreigners. Alltough it has a reputation for being free and liberal. Make sure you know the language really well.
