Travelling alone as a woman - is this dangerous???

• I'm a 22 year old blond girl from Ireland and I would like to travel around the UAE for a couple of weeks on my own. However, I'm not sure whether this is really safe. Any advice?

  Clara, I would advise you to do some research on traveling alone in the UAE. I can tell you that human trafficing is alive and well in this region of the world. Young blonde women are a HUGE target and very desirable to these people,going to places like the gold markets and such could be a big mistake. I would not think of letting by daughter and or wife travel to this region without security..PLEASE BE CAREFUL !!!!

  Even though this is a kuwaiti Forum, ill give you an answer to that question.
  
  The UAE is completly safe to go to.. and there are places you should avoid like any other country ... but if you are going to Dubai which has a population of 93% forign people and only 7% ppl from the UAE how would anyone think it isnt safe?
  
  Yes the young men might flirt and bother you ... but whatever .... that isnt a issue ..
  
  And to David from Kuwait, you said she will be a target ? thats total bullshit ... if you are in kuwait and you see young men flirt with girls that doesnt mean they want to kill her lol ..

  and stay away from people that try to hook up with you and act friendly online ... my guess is they think that since you are not from the UAE you will be easy and they will get laid lol ..

  I am a 24 year old blond girl from South Africa. I teach in the UAE. My advise is dress conservetive. The men stare at you all the time and that is very irretating!!!! I just keep my head high and walk on. I act like I do not even notes them. Do not be over friendly or talk to strangers. I travel on my own and have always been safe.
  Be firm with the men and dont take nonsens!!
  
  I meen why sould we stay at home just becouse we are blond and beautifull?
