Erben /Inheritance in Griechenland/Greece

  • Mein Vater hat uns was hinterlassen. Ich würde gerne wissen, wie das so prinzipiell ab geht ?
I would like to know the step by step algorithm of inheriting sth in Greece.

1.) Bei lokalem Finanzamt AFM beantragen.
Geht das auch über eine gr. Botschaft ?
    2.) ...?

  • Apostill on international death certificate

My father was a turkish Citizen working and living in Germany. When he died nobody told us in Germany that the international death certificate is not valid in Greece without Apostill stemp. Take care. You have to sent the international death certificate to a "Regierungspraesidium" in Germany it is not sufficient to get that paper from the "Standesamt" of the town where he died. Important: you don't get the death certificate from the "Standesamt" where he lived or where you as children have been registered. It is real burocracy to get that fu** paper in Germany.

Interestingly the international death certificate has several translations on it even in Greek.

Please try to inform yourself if you buy property and think about your children who are quite busy with all this fu** stuff as if it is not enough that one of your beloved ones has died.
