  I am Turkish and will be moving to Greece soon. I do not hate them I hope They do not too) Honestly I can say that except language and religion Greeks are the only nation which look like Turkish a lot... Music, food, people etc.. I believe "the hate ' is being manufactured by politicians...

  yes there unfortunately still is some hate, I am Turkish and I live in New York America and I was friends with a Greek person, one day he finds out I am Turkish and he goes all passive agressive and trying to insult Turkey every chance he gets around his other friends, same thing happened to my parent's store when a greek family went in to buy things but then found out that the owners were turkish they left immediately, maybe its not violent but you can't say there is no hate left

  The reason that Turkey invaded Cyprus was because the Greek Cypriot population wanted to unite Cyprus with Greece and saw Turkish Cypriots as obsticals. So they began to musrder the Turkish Cypriot minority.

Greeks practiced a system of ethnic cleansing on the Turkish population from 1955 - 1974 when the Turkish peace keeping forces arrived. Greece sponsored Terrorist group Eoka B to murder as many Turks as possible, so they could unite with Greece. Greeks should be ashamed of what they did. I`ve been all over Europe, I`ve met hundreds of Turks in Turkey, Denmark, Germany and Austria and all were friendly and kind hearted. Also, 23 Turks have visited the islands with a group from Instanbul and all of them have treated like greeks by the locals. This hate generated by some hardcore ethnicists back then, but now things are getting better and better day by day.   No. Disappointment is the most suitable word. Greeks have lived together with all those people and the behavior of the latter towards them has always been based on discrimation, exile, violence, threatening, executions etc. Bulgarians, for example, used to be our enemies from 1903 until 1944, but, since time softens passions, we now try to be good neighbors and maybe in the future good friends. The rest of them, some directly (Turkey, FYROM) and some indirectly (Albania), are still loyal to their anti-greek policies of the last millenium. They don't even try to be consistent to their commitments, while their governments keep insulting the greek nation either actively (Cyprus, Aegean, Constantinople, FYROM naming issue, "Cameria", greek minorities etc) or orally (like Gruevski) in any way they can. That's why Greeks cannot be friends with Turks, Bulgaromacedonians or Albanians. A friendship needs both sides!

  How can this butterfly even think that he is Macedonian when the word Macedonia is Greek? (it means tall-strong).
  Geographicly yes, he lives in a part of the world
  that used to be in the borders of the Macedonian
  kingdom but to claim that he is a descendant of the people that used to live there is stupid and ridiculous.
  Slavic people came to the Balkans one thousand years after the formation of the Macedonian kingdom and through the centuries there are proofs of the strong Greek feeling those people had.Their names , their Gods,their language and their way of life were Greek,not to mention that lots of them spilt their blood for Greece.This is not even challenged in the community of the historians.
  During medieval ages there used to be a Bulgarian kingdom there and off course lots of Slavs but the majority remained Greek and this lasted even into the Ottoman years given as a fact that 90% of the schools there were Greek.
  In fact there are lots of Greek people in FYROM itself nowadays.
  My friend, you have the right for a name as long as you are not stealing someone elses history , heritage and pride.Probably you dont know what you are but the biggest possibility is that those people are descedants of the slavic kingdom of Samuel mixed with Serbs.....sorry you dont have anything to do with Macedonia and there is no Macedonian ethnicity,just a fraction of Greek people.
  As for the Turks,they keep challenging Greece to get the people away from their really big problems :financial and political.No i dont hate Turks but they have to pay their debts for all the crimes they 've done with Greek people , Armenians and Cypriots...we are talking about almost 10 million people here.
  Nowadays Greece has achieved supremacy in every field so there is no logic in even discussing a Greek-Turkish rivaly especially when a big portion of the now so called Turks are Greeks by birth that turned into Islam.

  I am not trying to bash anyone, but I'm looking for a website that might have posts about people's personal experiences with families of 1st generation Greeks and their parents that have been similar to mine:
  
  *Generally, we were looked opon as inferior
  *Their religion is superior
  *We have an American Easter and they have a the true Greek Easter
  *Their child can do no wrong, and if they did, their child must have been prevoked by another child
  *They choose to ignore you unless you say hello first
  *They tease you about what you wear
  *They would call you and be sweet when they needed you
  *They brag about their child
  *They complain about how many gifts their child recieves from other family members
  * They ask for free babysitting so they can do chores around their house
  * They are not avaiable if you need their help
  
  Any suggestions?
