A few helpful terms to aid your search

Khmer rental glossary

Whilst you should be able to find an estate agent that can deal in English, the landlord could be a different story. Even a few basic words can make the process much easier, so here’s some phrases that should help you on your way.

address - ah sei yah thahn (អាសយដ្ឋាន)

airconditioning - measain trachak (ម៉ាស៊ីនត្រជាក់)

bathroom - bahn tup ngout teuk (បន្ទប់ទឹក)

bed - kreh (គ្រែ)

bedroom - bon tup dehk (បន្ទប់)

cheap - towk (ថោក)

double - kre pir dang (គ្រែពីរដង)

electricity - ah kis sah ni (អគ្គិសនី)

entrance - chrouk joul (ច្រកចូល)

floor - jeoun (ជាន់)

go to my house - dtoh pthaes kynom (សូមចូលទៅកាន់ផ្ទះរបស់ខ្ញុំ)

house - pthaes (ផ្ទះ)

I would like to rent -  k`nyom jong juol (ខ្ញុំចង់ជួល)

insurance - tia nia rap roung (ការធានារ៉ាប់រង)

my house - pthaes knyom (ផ្ទះរបស់ខ្ញុំ)

room - baan-dtoop  (បន្ទប់)

single - kre temuoy (គ្រែតែមួយ)

to rent - juol (ជួល)

wall - junh jaing (ជញ្ជាំង)

water - tuek (ទឹក)

window - bong oouch (បង្អួច)
