Dutch Banking.

  • I have to agree with most of the posts here - banking in this country is chronic. Their service is nothing short of disgraceful and customers are - at best - a necessary evil & not to be listened to or (god forbid) even actually helped. I've moved banks a number of times and each one is as bad as the others (although ABN-Amro really take the cake as they HAVE to be the ABSOLUTE worst for customer service.) Having said that, I bank at ABN-Amro simply because I have no choice anymore (which, I guess, is what they know and hence why they have such crap service.) The only one I havent tried yet is Rabobank but when I went to open an account they told I needed an appointment and then never called me back to make it! Clearly a good start...
    Of all the banks I have used over the years before I came to Holland, Dutch banks are far and away the worst (in ALL respects) and most old fashioned.
